5 Ways Working Moms Can Benefit From Coaching

Have you heard of the coaching profession?  If you are searching for a way to integrate your career into your life so that overwhelm and stress is minimal then hire yourself a coach.  Let me explain.
The International Coach Federation, which is the largest credentialing body to certify coaches, defines coaching as:
“Partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
My definition of coaching is:
“Audaciously exploring all of your possibilities to find and seize the right opportunity.”
There are many more definitions describing how coaching can benefit someone but the point is that coaching has the potential to make a positive and significant impact on your life if you’re willing to put in the work.

Why would a Working Mom want to work with a coach?

There is so much advice out there to learn from when you choose to take the time to look for it and then apply it.

We are all unique made up of different childhoods, experiences, thoughts, and feelings.
Outside of ourselves we have our family quirks and our own desired career path.
So blanket non-specific advice will only take you so far.
Also, how you view obstacles and successfully address challenges may be different than someone else.
A coach shines in this arena because they focus on just you or sometimes they focus on a special group of people in group coaching sessions.

They shine because their job is to focus 100% on you, not others and not themselves, only on YOU.
When the partnership is based on you, not all of the Working Moms in the world, challenges are tackled quickly and magic happens.

There’s probably a more professional way of putting it but from my experience of being coached as well as coaching others magic sums up the experience.
So what are some more reasons why a Working Mom would hire a coach?  Here are five ways a coach can help:

A coach can help a Working Mom find more time and energy.

You feel less exhausted and more energized because you aren’t trying to figure things out on your own.  There’s an assigned time each week that you will focus on whatever challenges you face.  After finding answers and putting an action plan into place you’ll feel less torn in a million directions and more whole.

A coach can help a Working Mom live according to her values and priorities.

Personal values are factors that are important in your in life.  The best decisions are based on these personal values.  In addition to living by your values a coach helps solidify your top priorities and discovers how to align them with your values.  When you have a coach keeping you accountable to live by these VP’s it makes life more manageable.  Answers come easier.

A coach can help a Working Mom avoid burn out.

You can get clear so you can get ahead.  Burnout may be caused by your workload at work, at home or both.  A coach can help you set boundaries, rules that you set about how you want to live your life.  A coach can help find the source of the pressure you’re feeling, how to retract to recoup and then how to set expectations going forward.

A coach can help a Working Mom get motivated and create change.

Finding a direction is a huge motivator, especially when you are the one that thought of it.    A coach is not there to tell you want to do they are your partner and work with you to find the right path.  They are also there to support you when the going gets tough because change can be hard.  A coach can give you that push that you need to start making the right choices for you, your family and your career.

A coach can help a Working Mom stop hitting the snooze button.

You will be held accountable to succeed throughout the coaching experience.  You’ll feel good in the morning because you have a plan you’ve mapped out with your coach that you want to tackle each day.  You’ll be excited to launch because of the fresh perspectives you’ll gain from coaching.  Discovering the right direction for you is a great walk up call.  aving directionHavinadl;fkjasdklfjal;kdjfakl;sdjfak;Havingasdfljk

It’s easy for life to get busy and to allow these kinds of important life changing decisions to be pushed to the side.

Sometimes we decide that taking care of others is more important and sometimes easier than taking care of ourselves, which hurts us.

When you hire a coach you are committing to making changes in your life that will affect everyone else’s life.

So if you have ever thought about working with a coach (most offer a freebie type of call) I encourage you to contact one.
Go experience the magic that coaching has to offer.
